- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove front wheels.
- Unscrew hexagon collar bolt on front axle shaft.
- Take off bottom engine compartment panel at front.
- Detach linkage for headlamp leveling device on lower transverse control arm.
- Press supporting joint out of steering knuckle.
- Turn front of steering knuckle outwards and then pull outwards, while moving front axle shaft out of front axle shaft flange. Do not damage boots of front axle shaft and of supporting joint. If required, to loosen front axle shaft, screw in hexagon-collar bolt again a few threads and drive out front axle shaft...

- Read out variant coding of TPMS (RDK) control module (N88). To do this connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and transfer data of TPMS (RDK) control module (N88) to STAR DIAGNOSIS.
- Move passenger seat into rearmost position.
