- Drain coolant from radiator until level is below thermostat housing.
- Remove upper radiator hose, then heater hose at thermostat housing and engine coolant sensor wire.
- Remove thermostat housing bolts and gasket, then the thermostat.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- Ensure pellet encircled by coil spring faces engine.
- Ensure thermostat is in recess groove and position thermostat in groove with arrow and air bleed hole on outer flange pointing up.

The following procedure is described for a propeller shaft equipped with only a cardan joint in the tube yoke. If the propeller shaft is equipped with a companion yoke, simply repeat the following steps to remove the cardan joint from the companion yoke after removing the cardan joint from the tube yoke. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) performs an On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) inspection of the EGR system on all California Vehicles. The diagnostic system uses the electronic EGR Transducer (EET) for the system tests.
